Patterns, sequences and banks
With a new, crisp and streamlined GUI (graphical user interface) creating 303-style sequences and sounds is made easier than ever! The intuitive design is split into five main sections comprised of: Transport Bar, Patterns, Effects, Sequencer and Tools. Basing its design on an iconic bassline synthesizer, AcidBox V2 includes all the tools and parameters that made the original hardware synth so legendary.
Choose between and store up to 32 patterns using the pattern selector parameter, featuring eight patterns and four banks in total. You can also set the sync options for triggering the patterns just like the original. The sequencer is the same, jam-packed with tools such as Accent, Slide, Note, and fine-tuning parameters. You can now fine-tune a range of parameters including tuning per step, time per step, pan per step as well as introducing a MIDI assign chart. You can also export your patterns, banks and sequences to a range of new formats including: 303, Phoscyon, ABL2, ABL3.
Onboard effects and advanced sound settings
Building on the design of the original AcidBox, version 2 features a newly introduced fifth distortion unit, taking the effects count up to six in total. With four flavours to choose from, you can dial in your sound with precision using the Drive and Dry/Wet parameters. You can also shape and sculpt your sound further using the synthesis section with resonance, cutoff, tuning, decay, accent control and more. There is also an onboard delay effect with a switchable ‘ping pong’ setting. It also has feedback and filter controls for added flexibility.
The redesigned interface provides the choice of light/dark themes to suit your style. It is also scalable up to 200 percent, so you can enjoy high-resolution graphics on any system. The sound settings panel has been expanded, allowing you to choose between the updated sonority of AcidBox V2 or roll-back to the original tone and sound of AcidBox V1, which provides added mid on the filter. There is also a Cut Off Raise options, which will rise the cutoff when multiple accents are chained on the sequence. Not only that, but AcidBox V2 allows you to control MIDI I/O settings as well as the ability to random assign GUI parameters.
