Authentic acoustic sound and design
This instrument’s body has been designed to provide an excellent unplugged timbre. The hollow Kevlar and carbon fibre body is strong and lightweight, yet it still can deliver fantastic unamplified sounds for quiet practice. When plugged in, the Aquila is open and clear with great depth and warmth. Even without reverb or delay, there is no unpleasant harshness or resonance. The specially designed jack’s placement underneath the body enables you to avoid snags and electronic interference from the cable.
These modern materials and construction techniques are complemented by the traditional ebony fittings. The bridge is based on a traditional bridge design with a piezo seamlessly integrated into it. Furthermore, the scroll’s design is based on a 1701 Stradivari Viola da Gamba. It’s carved out of a single block of maple and the design has been modified to fit into a modern-sized peg box.
Finely tuned electronics
Bridge has developed some of the best-sounding electronic components heard in an electric violin. The embedded piezo in the bridge resists any feedback thanks to it mainly picking up the vibrations in the bridge– not any in the air. You won’t need to worry about your amplification feeding back through your pickup.
Inside, the circuitry has been fine-tuned to work as well as possible within the frequency ranges of your violin, your instrument will sound just as vibrant and alive plugged in as it will acoustically. The high-quality components produce very little noise, so you can get a crystal-clear sound no matter how loud you turn up the volume. Many wireless audio systems also are compatible thanks to the carefully designed jack.
There’s no messing around with power switches. The active circuitry automatically turns on when you insert a jack, and it produces enough power to provide a clear and loud sound through any pedal or interface – no need for a separate preamp. You can be confident that your violin will last through a gig or rehearsal thanks to the 3000 hours of battery life from the single 3V button cell, carrying spares won’t take up too much space either. Tone-shaping controls are also offered through the single tone knob. Built on a tilt control rather than simply cutting and boosting high and low-frequency bands, the tone control allows for a smooth and refined shaping of your instrument’s timbre.
Fully outfitted
The Aquila is shipped almost ready to play straight out of the box. A case is provided with space for all your accessories including holders for the included bow and three additional ones. Thomastik Dominant synthetic strings are also included with the instrument. These strings are among the most popular strings in the world with both professionals and students because of their very well-balanced sound and versatility. Their synthetic cores produce a sound that is very similar to traditional gut strings but with superior dynamic range, projection, and timbral complexity. Dominants are also extremely resistant to changes in temperature or humidity – an ideal characteristic for travelling musicians.
