Tape fluctuation simulations
The Sinevibes Stator tape simulation engine accurately replicates tape wow, flutter and scrape flutter effects through a combination of 13 fine-tuned DSP algorithms for simulating tape machine speed wobble. By simulating the uneven friction of a tape motor, the Stator produces a wow effect by periodically slowing down or speeding up and then returning to normal speed. To produce flutter the Stator simulates continuous low-frequency speed fluctuations, while the scrape effect simulates continuous high-frequency speed jitter as if there is a vibration of tape against a tape head. Each effect is distinctive in its own right and the Stator is capable of simulating the specific qualities of the effects and even overlaying them over one another to develop a precise yet natural vintage vibrance that will bring vintage warmth, movement and character with a precise level of adjustable specificity to your mix.
Complex speed modulation signals
Stator's complex modulation signals ultimately produce a wide variety of pitch drift and lo-fi jitter effects that bring a sense of worn-out and unstable audio to your mix. The wow, flutter and scrape flutter that features in Stator's tape simulation engine each have separate modulation depth adjustments so you can find a unique balance in sonic quality for your mix. This is a distinct sonic quality that can be placed subtly within your mix or can tear up your mix for a lush burn with a striking character.
Stereo widening
The Sinevibes Stator also employs individual stereo widening formulas in each of its three modulation components, or succinctly, variable stereo phase offset with individual calibration in each of its three modulation components. Essentially, Sinevibes give you the ability to mix the wow, flutter and scrape flutter effects individually into your stereo field to develop a nuanced sense of dimensionality and depth in your mix. With access to the full stereo width of your mix Stator proves to be a highly flexible effects unit.
Sound colouration
Stator offers multiple sound colouring features. Variable channel crosstalk opens interaction between the three modulation components for adding chorusing and phasing artefacts that attach a vintage quality to your sound. A built-in adjustable feedback loop provides additional sound colouration, and both sound colouring features offer precise adjustment so you can approach specific and distinct sonic qualities that stand out in your mix.
User interface
Sinevibes Stator follows in the thematic suit of the whole Sinevibes range by offering an intuitive user interface for simple access to a complex algorithmic effects unit. Implementing colour-coded graphic elements, consistent name, mapping, value, and unit implemented for all parameters in both graphic user interface and automation menus as well as a varied range of presets and preset management functions provide an attractive approach to workflow inherent in Stator so that you can explore the creative potentials Sinevibes offer with the greatest of ease.
