SynthMaster
New features in version 2.9.9
Building on the foundation of previous versions, SynthMaster version 2.9.9 continues to improve functionality and useability whilst maintaining the core DNA that has proved so successful. New users will reap the benefits of the big leaps into new and exciting territory whilst existing users will feel familiar.
Featuring new and updated skins with a larger layout, SynthMaster allows you to easily view your whole synth in a format that is intuitive and simple to read. Extended versions are also available which include two tabs with pitch/modulation wheel, piano keyboard, MIDI modulation sources, EZ knobs and XY pads. Having access to the modulation sources under the layer modules allows you to speed up the sound design process without having to go through time-consuming menu diving. The new and improved skins can now be easily resized without distortion up to 200 .
A highly requested feature, SynthMaster now includes real-time visual feedback for modulation sources and targets. You can now see how the modulation sources and targets are changing when a note is being played with the animations being able to be turned on or off.
An exciting new feature is the improved Preset Browser with direct access to KV331's online preset store. Favourite presets can now be added or removed easily with the star icon next to the preset name for quick and easy recall of your favourite presets. This will help speed up production time and let you focus on your performance and songwriting, while knowing the amazing sounds of SynthMaster will all of your bases covered. Once you have created your own sound or tweaked a preset of your choice, you can upload your preset to the Public User Library directly through the user interface for other users to enjoy. If you can't quite find the sound that you're after, why not visit the online KV331 store directly through the user interface of SynthMaster to find a sound that is right for you from one of the preset bundles designed by world-class sound designers.
Further developments in SynthMaster include QWERTY Keyboard input for MIDI performance without the need for a dedicated keyboard, improved micro tuning ability with 300+ scales to chose from, 16-step sequencers with individual initial and final levels and slopes with a dual-mode for two separate sequences to be morphed using crossfade among many more improvements to help you realise your creative potential like never before.
Powerful effects and filtering
SynthMaster provides you with a plethora of filtering options and effects to sculpt and perfect your sound in stunning detail. Featuring four filters, each of which have been developed using the zero-delay feedback filter technology. Advanced filter parameters such as input gain, drive and acid are all available to help you achieve the classic analog sound from your favourite hardware synths. The 'VAnalog' filters are modelled after the famous ladder filter, driving themselves into self-oscillation when the resonance is maxed out with a continuously variable slope that is unique to SynthMaster. Scalable settings allow you to consume less CPU when in intensive projects. All-new 'Multi-mode Filter makes it possible to switch from low-pass, band-pass to high-pass filters continously with the ability to change the slope of the filter continuously from 0db/oct to 24db/ octave. The newly designed 'Dual' filter type allows two multi-mode filters to be run simultaneously either in parallel or in series. The mix ratios between these filters can be changed continuously as well as the cut-off to fine-tune the sound to fit your mix perfectly and widen your tonal palette.
Featuring 11 different types types of rich and vibrant effects, KV331 Audio SynthMaster can help add studio-quality polish to your sound to get your tracks ready for release. Distortion, LoFi, Ensemble, Phaser, 6-Band EQ, Compressor, Vocoder, Delay, Chorus, Tremolo and Reverb are all included to help you sculpt and shape your tracks or add the creative flair needed to stand out from the crowd. Each of the 11 effect types can be inserted on any layer insert or on any of the 2 global effect bus inserts. For added flexibility, the distortion stage can be inserted before, after, or even inside the filters for a true analog sound.
SynthMaster One
Sophisticated oscillators
SynthMaster One gives you stereo oscillators with unison/voice stacking capabilities with several layers of modulation to create unique, raw and expressive sounds such as Voices, Voice Mix, Detune Curve, Detune Spread, Pan Stread, Tone Spread and Phase Spread. The basic oscillators in SynthMaster One are capable of synthesizing many different types of waveforms including Sine, Square, Triangle, Sawtooth, Pulse, Noise and more. Each oscillator comes with 17 different algorithms to vastly sculpt and shape your sound to create the sound you hear in your head.
Wavetable Synthesis
SynthMaster One implements true wavetable synthesis which opens up new possibilities for sound design. You can import wave files that contain wavetables into SynthMaster One and use them in your projects. SynthMaster One comes with a rich wavetable library and you can extend that by placing wavetables under the Waveforms folder of SynthMaster One.
Semi-modular architecture
For each SynthMaster One instance, there are 2 oscillators with 2 sub oscillators, 2 Filters, 4 ADSR Envelopes, 2 LFOs, a powerful 16 step arpeggiator/sequencer and also 11 different effects that can be inserted onto 6 FX insert slots. The sub oscillators can be connected to the oscillators in 5 different modes which let you use it as a regular sub oscillator or do complex modulations such as ring modulation, amplitude modulation, phase modulation or frequency modulation.
