Key Features
The MK-419 also features a high maximum SPL of 135dB. This allows the microphone to be used for loud sound sources including drum applications. Alternatively, thanks to the low self noise, the microphone is equally effective when used on low loudness sources that require high gain. Thanks to this extensive feature range, the MK-419 is capable of capturing a warm, clear sound in a number of recording environments.

The same large diaphragm, 26mm capsule is used as in the MK-419’s predecessor. The classic design, gold spattered teflon capsule pairs perfectly with the MK-419’s low noise circuitry. The result is a capsule with defined midrange presence and sibilance-free top end.
The MK-419 utilises a transformerless circuit in order to capture clear sound. This offers a range of benefits, including allowing the mic to cope with high signal level without distortion. Not only does this improve the overall tone of the MK-419, but it becomes extremely versatile and suitable for a range of sources.
Several alterations to the microphone from the previous MK-319 model have resulted in lower self-noise. This is thanks in part to the redesigned output stage, increasing output sensitivity to 34 mV/Pa. Other improvements include an increased polarising voltage and increased maximum sound pressure level to 135dB. All this ensures that the MK-419 is able to deliver pristine audio in a huge range of recording applications.
Thanks to the range of characteristics on offer with the MK-419, it is particularly suited to guitars, overheads and any other source requiring a warm, clear sound. This is achieved thanks to the wide frequency response (20 Hz to 19 kHz) capable of capturing every essence of the signal source. The extremely low self-noise also makes the MK-419 suited to quiet sources where high gain is required.
