Different instruments and timbres require different types of processing allowing everything to blend naturally. This is also the case for entire mixes where certain sonic information could do with a tweak in a specific part of the stereo image, or you just want some extra width, but in these scenarios, you don't necessarily want to affect the full mix. This is where mid/side processing comes into play and Hoser XT enables you to do it with style and simplicity.
With Hoser XT you're gifted the ability to filter in linked, stereo or mid/side mode. This means you can hone in on what you want to filter out or give a little boost to, even if it is something that resides on the outer edges of your stereo mix. With just the flick of a switch, you'll be working on exactly what you want to work on with the ability to zero in on what matters most in your mix or on the instrument track you're processing.
Often when mixing, visual feedback can be helpful to aid your workflow so you can see as well as hear what is happening with your mix. At face value, Hoser XT works with a simple hardware-inspired interface, where you're given volume meters and knobs so you can dial in your tone and monitor any changes in gain that may cause unwanted peaks or distortion. This is great for working with your ears and truly getting a feel for your track, however, during long mix sessions you may need the visual aid to help you along. Well, Hoser XT has the perfect hidden tool for you. Just click on 'The Hoser', in the top right and you're then given an EQ curve visual to show you exactly what your filtering looks like. Modern features combined with spectacular analog tone is assured with Hoser XT.
With The Hoser 2, Boz and David Bendeth are keeping the legacy alive of this vintage fabled unit. This update focuses on workflow whilst leaving the sonic signature untouched. Starting with the interface, workflow has been given a massive upgrade with a resizable interface, letting you find the right size to fit your screen.
More practically, The Hoser now includes enhanced features for more control over your sound design. A smooth-sounding 6dB/octave high-pass filter has been included and features a highly transparent tone to let you process single tracks or entire groups without introducing artefacts.
Where the original The Hoser featured a drivable input control similar to the original, the Hoser 2 update provides the same input saturation but with a linked-output control, letting you drive the input gain for the same harmonic saturation without the output level increasing. This lets you make more informed decisions on your processing to not be fooled by any volume changes, all while eliminating the need for external trim plug-ins.
Bringing the plug-in up to modern standards, parameters can be reset by double-clicking, undo/redo buttons have been introduced, and oversampling up to 8X is now possible all while delivering the same immaculate analog-modelled sound in a lightweight CPU format.
Free with every purchase of Hozer XT is a small and compact version of XT called The Hoser. It features the same control set and algorithm as Hoser XT but just on a smaller scale, with filtering modes only being in a mono or stereo format for those times when you want a quick fix of EQ for an individual track or mix.
"The team at Ward-Beck Systems would like to thank them (Boz) for this compliment and are excited that the Hoser is available to the world. We wish them continued success!" - Ward-Beck Systems
