Sonicware Liven XFM Overview

The Sonicware Liven XFM is a compact but powerful digital FM synthesizer and groovebox with a four-track sequencer. With four different FM-based sound engines, that can provide quick, immediate results, or deep, highly detailed sound tweaking, the Liven XFM provides a wide-ranging sonic palette.


Thanks to the X-LAB Engine, you can merge two FM sounds together to create something completely unique with the use of only one blend control knob. The XFORM Engine provides time-based evolution and sound blending from one sound to another, and the X-LFO allows continuous modulation between two sounds controlled by an LFO. With these three immediate blending and morphing Fusion FM sound engines, you can achieve complex and unique tones very quickly from its extensive bank of preset sounds. Its fourth Library Engine allows you to dive deep with full access to its 4-operator FM engine, so you can build and design sounds from scratch, and recall them for later morphing with the other engines.


The Liven XFM's functionality doesn't stop there, though. With a deep four-track sequencer with up to 64 steps per pattern, 128 patterns, parameter lock for automation recording, and tempo subdivisions, you can create full tracks from just the Liven XFM. Alternatively, you can sync it with external gear, with traditional clock and MIDI connectors, as well as Audio Sync as used by the Pocket Operators and Volca devices, so you can keep the Liven XFM and use its powerful sequencer as the brains of your setup, while integrating the rest of your gear smoothly and naturally. Ideal for jamming, live performance, and deep sound design, the Liven XFM provides power in a lightweight package, so you can chain all of your gear together for powerful live sets, or fun and immediate jamming.
