Key Features
Product Ref: 315760
The Driftbox R is a versatile synthesizer for its size, capable or generating sounds normally reserved for large modular systems. The dual voice design employs two powerful VCOs with a frequency range spanning 0.1 – 10kHz. The precision rotary controls allow you to dial in your signals with precision, from VCO frequencies to volume, modulation and resonance. The voltage-controlled oscillators feed the VCF and VCA sections, providing a wide range of controls to create a variety of tones and sounds.
Between the two oscillators you can obtain an array of waveforms. VCO 1 can be toggled to generate sawtooth, triangle, square, rectangle and square waves; providing the perfect base for creating a myriad of sounds. The seconds VCO allows you to switch between sawtooth and square waveshapes. Each oscillator can also be modulated by the other, allowing you to create more complex sounds, ranging from gritty basslines to FM sounds and more.
Shape and texturise your sounds. The VCF section is comprised of a 24dB low-pass filter which you can use to change the tonality of the sound you are creating. The VCA section provides with an AR D/S envelope generator, perfect for shaping tones. There is also a dedicated rotary control for the envelope depth, which can be overridden, virtually turning the Driftbox R into a drone generator.
Reon Driftboxes are handcrafted in Osaka, Japan using traditional through-hole components and fully analog circuits. The through-hole design is inspired by classic vintage synths, providing a versatile sound palette that’s reminiscent of the late ‘80s. The synthesizer also features a wide range of connections including CV I/O for a range of parameters. Each of the voltage-controlled oscillators feature their own CV input for controlling the frequency. Also included is a gate input for trigger the EG, CV inputs for the VCA and VCF section, as well as a MIDI input.
