Key Features
The Doepfer A-115-5V is a complete monophonic synth voice in one module. It's a Eurorack format version of Doepfer's Dark Energy desktop synth. This synth features all the parts you would need to start making sounds. It includes a filter, amplifier and an ADSR envelope generator which can be triggered by an external gate input. There are also two LFOs that can modulate the internal components or be routed to other modules on your modular. The VCF and VCA feature switches to switch between the LFO and ADSR as modulation sources. This is a great module if you are starting to build a modular synth or if you are building a small HP modular system. This vintage edition features a stylish black faceplate.

The A-111-5V contains a single oscillator that produces either sawtooth, triangle or no waveforms which are mixed with a rectangle waveform. The rectangle wave can be turned off by turning the pulse width (PW) knob to 0. The pitch of this VCO can be set with the tune knob, a jumper on the back of the module can alter the range of the knob from half an octave to 2 and a half octaves. The range switch can set the octave which the knob works in. Overall the range of this oscillator is from 30Hz to 10kHz. External control signals can be used to set the pitch (1V/octave) and the pulse width modulation of the rectangle.
This synth offers multiple ways to shape the sound from the VCO. The main two units that can do this are the filter and the amplifier. The filter can be switched to track the VCO pitch at two settings, half and full. The filter also has a manual resonance control which can self oscillate when set high enough. If no sound is being fed in from the VCO then this can be used as a sine wave oscillator. There are inputs for linear frequency modulation as well as the filter's frequency. Exponential frequency modulation is able to be done with the internal LFO or ADSR. The ability for FM greatly expands the tonal pallete of this module. External audio signals can also be mixed with the VCO via the external audio input to be processed by the filter. The VCA section has a manual amplitude control with the amplitude modulation being controlled by either external CV or the internal LFO or ADSR.
The A-111-5V has several options for modulation including two LFOs and an ADSR. These can be used to modulate the internal parts of this module or external modules. This is perfect if you want to expand your system as new modules you get will be able to be controlled by this module. Both LFOs have triangle and rectangle waveforms. The frequency is manually controlled with a knob and the range can be switched between low, audio and medium. There is an LED that indicates when the signal is positive or negative. The ADSR offers manual controls for the four sections and a range switch that can change the overall length of the envelope.
