The G5422TG features a pair of Black Top Filter'Tron Pickups located at the bridge and neck, both huge, punchy sound that works perfectly with rock music, yet it still produces excellent balance and total transparency that allows the natural tone to shine through. Full, focused lows and sparkling highs, the Filter'Tron Pickups provide complete definition making it suitable for a variety of playing styles.
Pristine playability
As expected, Gretsch has delivered a guitar which is an absolute dream to play. A standard “U” shaped maple neck provides a comfortable grasp, ensuring complete control of the guitar whilst still freeing your hand to effortlessly jump from chord to chord. A luscious rosewood fretboard allows for ultimate fretting, freeing your fingers to blaze across the fretboard with accuracy and precision. Tuning isn’t an issue thanks to the stunning combination of a Bigsby B60 tailpiece and an Adjusto-Matic bridge which both work to guarantee perfect string tension.
Delightful tonewoods
The Gretsch G5420T is crafted from five-ply maple, allowing the guitar to emit a full-bodied sound with bright distinctive overtones and excellent sustain. Possessing excellent projection, the guitar is fronted with a pair of F-holes which reinforce the sound creating a powerful but articulate sound that possesses the same level of elegance as its stunning aesthetic.
