Fulltone Soul Bender Overdrive Pedal Overview
The Fulltone Sound Bender Overdrive is a pedal replicates the 1970s Sola-Sound ToneBender to give you fat and singing lead fuzz tones. It uses a new supply of freshly sourced geranium transistors, specifically designed for this peal to give more tonal range and volume than the original pedal. Its tone control acts to thicken the sound and lets you achieve some mid-heavy tones that will slice straight through the mix.
Silent switching and true bypass alongside polarity projection gives the Soul Bender modern reliability and safety protection if ever the wrong power supply is accidentally plugged in. What's more, you'll be guaranteed a classic Fulltone recreation of the best of vintage overdrive voices alongside modern construction for recreating those fat singing fuzz tones of the '60s and '70s.

The Fulltone Sound Bender Overdrive Pedal is a modern recreation of the original 1970s Sola-Sound distortion/fuzz. This was a popular pedal compared to the Fuzzface at the time as it had more sustain and a lot of mid-range clarity which could boost single coil guitars and make them sound more like a saxophone. Michael Fuller owned and repaired more than 40 of the original units and learned what made them tick. He found a new source of germanium transistors and has been able to re-release the Soul Bender Pedal with his improvements over the original design.
Germanium Transistors
The Fulltone Sound Bender Overdrive includes three specifically designed germanium transistors with low internal gain and low noise. They give the pedal the ability to create more volume and an increased tonal range than the original Sola-Sound pedal. They are combined with Fulltone's silent switching and better power supply filtering with polarity projection to give you modern reliability and consistency with the same classic vintage fuzz tone.
Midrange warmth
The Fulltone Sound Bender Overdrive comes equipped with a tone dial which doesn't act like the usual tone controls to remove treble frequencies; it shapes your sound by both removing treble and boosting the mid and bass frequencies. This can enable fat tones that sing with sustain and can re-create those lovely violin-like solo tones that punch through the mix like a bullet through a balloon.
