Quality you can feel. When Petrucci sat down with the designers at Music Man, comfort and playability were clearly at the forefront of his mind. The JP6 Piezo's luxurious scooped forearm cutaway cradles your arm, while holding it at the perfect angle for riffing that's raucous yet relaxed. When it's time to change gears, you can flick between pickups, or adjust your tone and volume without missing a beat thanks to the precise and calculated layout of the JP6's controls, which follow the exact trajectory of John's arm as he plays.
No stone was left unturned in the search for exemplary ergonomics. Petrucci even specifically requested the pickups be mounted directly into the body, with no surrounding mounting rings, allowing him to anchor his pinky finger below the bridge pickup for complete pick-hand control. The JP6 is packed with convenient features, custom designed for a playing experience like no other.
Magnetic monsters meet Piezo's cutting-edge cleans. The sheer range of rock tones offered by the JP6 is unsurpassed in modern guitar making. From the fluid, flowing solo sounds of the LiquiFire in the neck position, to the raging roar of the Crunch Lab at the bridge, Petrucci's signature DiMarzio pickups provide ferocity and finesse in equal measure.
But the magic moment comes when you switch to the JP6's third Piezo pickup. Ideal for shimmering clean sounds, the radical Piezo system uses the physical pressure under each string's bridge saddle to produce mesmerising clean tones, naturally reminiscent of an acoustic guitar. All-round alternatives with zero compromises.
Unlimited combinations. Use the JP6's plethora of controls and outputs to blend the Piezo pickup's glistening highs and strong, focussed fundamental, with the LiquiFire's more mid-centred magnetic pickup sound for picked perfection and strumming supremacy. Simply place the secondary Piezo selector switch, handily located on the upper horn, to the middle position and blend to taste.
Or plug a guitar cable into each of the Music Man's pair of jack outputs, to connect to two separate amps. This allows you to flick between a crystal-clear Piezo clean sound and blistering Crunch Lab chords at the flick of a switch. You could even use this setup to fire off mesmerising stereo effects. Whatever your song requires, the Music Man JP6 has got it covered.
The virtuoso's guitar. Coming with heaps of quality hardware, the JP6 has the potential to change your guitar playing experience. 24 wide stainless steel high profile frets give some brightness to the tone, whilst being incredibly durable and reliable. The custom John Petrucci Music Man floating tremolo bridge ensures your tuning is always stable, whilst allowing you to use the whammy bar as much as you please.
Schaller M6-IND locking machineheads also help to hold your tuning, whilst their chrome plated, hardened steel construction makes them strong and durable. The truss rod is completely adjustable without having to remove any components, and the electrics are well protected by the aluminium control cover and graphite acrylic resin coated body cavity. Coming in a stunning finish, this guitar is a work of art and a feat of engineering - a truly exceptional instrument.
