The Ibanez SR1820 Premium has a stripped back natural low gloss finish and features a walnut/flame maple top with a mahogany body. The walnut and flame maple top provide a clear attack as well as a striking appearance, while the mahogany body delivers a warm, fat, low-end. As well as visual aesthetics, the SR1820 offers comfortable contours and a double cutaway design, allowing full access to the whole fingerboard.
A set of single-coil "Big Single" pickups deliver a full-bodied, aggressive tone, whilst retaining its clarity for the ultimate single-coil tone. In order to produce incredibly huge, loud sounds, the pickups are designed with the biggest coils they could fit within the soapbar cover, resulting in the perfect jazz bass-on-steroids tone.
One of the most unique features of this 2018 Ibanez bass guitar is the 3-band EQ, featuring an EQ bypass switch to shape and craft the tone of your guitar with maximum control. With controls over treble, mid, and bass, the 3-band EQ lets you to mould every nuance of your sound to find the perfect tone for your playing. The bypass switch flicks between the original and affected tone, letting you experiment and create a range of tonal possibilities.
The SR1820 features an atlas-4 5 piece panga panga/purpleheart neck with titanium rods. Its titanium reinforcement rods are lightweight and strong with a nature that forever enables the neck to keep its original shape. The titanium rods also add more resonance and sustain to the guitar's overall tone, as well as adding richer highs, mids and lows. Additionally the SR1820 features a panga panga fingerboard, which is a more sustainable tonewood than the commonly used rosewood. Panga panga is very similar to wenge and rosewood in both looks and tone. This substitute tonewood adds warmth and resonance to the overall tone, and provides a smooth platform for the left hand. Its fingerboard is graced with stunning abalone oval inlays for added elegance, adding to its uniquely stunning appearance, the SR1820 is certain to look sublime on stage.
