Key Features
Product Ref: 105220
The Ibanez SR Series of bass guitars feature a heavily contoured body to create an incredibly smooth playing feel. These guitars are loaded with versatile electronics and feature quality tonewoods, so you'll get a high-performing instrument at any price-point.
The Premium line of Ibanez instruments utilises much of the same specifications as the more expensive Prestige line, but they are crafted in Indonesia to give players more affordable access to premium-quality instruments. The Indonesian luthiers are directly trained by Ibanez, so you'll still be getting a professional-quality instrument with an excellent price/performance ratio.
The SR1306 features a mahogany body which has a warm and resonant tonality. The body is topped with ash and walnut, which adds harmonic overtones while creating a classy-looking aesthetic that gives a real "boutique" look.
The neck is created from 5 pieces of panga panga and purpleheart, and then topped with a bound panga panga fingerboard. The 5-piece design helps to create a strong neck which enhances tuning stability and resonance. The panga panga fingerboard is a dense tonewood that adds a strong low-end articulation to your playing.
The Ibanez SR Series guitars have an incredibly smooth contoured body that will still feel comfortable after a long gig or recording session. The neck-joint has a low-profile that complements the double cutaway body and offers no barriers to top-fret access
The neck has a thin profile, allowing you to play the most demanding of playing techniques, while the 400mm fingerboard radius creates a balanced feel across the strings. The SR1306's 24 medium frets are finished with the Ibanez Premium Fret-Edge Treatment; this creates a specially rounded shape and a polished surface for a liquid-smooth playing feel.
The bridge has a narrower 16.5mm string-spacing which assists with high-speed string-crossing.
The SR1306 is loaded with Nordstrand Big Single pickups. They are passive single coils in a soapbar-style housing and give a full-bodied, powerful sound while still retaining the clarity and nuance that single coils are known for.
The pickups are wired with a blend control to get the perfect balance of neck-position warmth and bridge-position bite. An additional 3-band active EQ gives the ability to cut and boost your frequencies, letting you sculpt your sound to exactly how you require.
A master EQ-bypass control gives you the option of playing without the active electronics engaged. This could be used for an alternative, passive sound, or could be seen as a reassuring playing feature; if your battery runs out mid-gig, you'll still be able to keep on playing.
This versatile electronics setup lets you create almost any sound and makes the SR1306 a great choice for session players and modern discerning musicians.
A Mono-rail V bridge provides each string with an independent, isolated saddle. This gives you full adjustment over action and intonation. The bridge also locks the strings firmly to the body for optimum vibration transfer, whilst keeping them isolated from one-another and helping to maintain a high degree of clarity in your playing.
The SR1306 has a low-friction Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut for a smooth string action, while the Gotoh machine heads offer enhanced tuning stability for a stable and reliable performance, whether on stage or in the studio.
