EMG Pickups

The FRX-407 is powered by a pair of high output EMG Pickups, consisting of an EMG 81 in the bridge position and an EMG 85 in the neck. The EMG 81 produces an incredibly intense sound, with good amounts of high end cut. For the classic pickup combination, this LTD FRX Guitar also features an EMG 85 pickup at the neck that offers a slightly more sophisticated and well-rounded sound than the 81. The 85 provides incredible versatility, and will perform exceptionally well in metal music styles; with its fierce growl and smooth leads.

Maple Neck & Pau Ferro Fingerboard

The ESP LTD FRX-407 features a 3-piece maple neck which is strong and more resistant to warping than classic 1 piece necks. The maple delivers a bright and twangy tone with good clarity, while the pau ferro brings added articulation and attack.

Unique Body, Crafted From Mahogany

The FRX-407 features a unique and striking body shape, as the sharp edges, and striking bevels create an outrageously metal appearance. The body is crafted from mahogany, which enhances the sound with richness and resonance, as well as a tone with good bite and sustain. Mahogany is a durable tonewood and works well with punchy rock music. The mahogany body is finished in black satin to top off the heavy metal look.

Floyd Rose Special Bridge

With a design that has stood strong for over 30 years, the Floyd Rose Special Locking Tremolo allows you to adjust the string tension and pitch with the removable whammy bar to create unique sounds such as dive bombs. Unlike non-locking tremolo's the Floyd Rose Special bridge can make huge changes in pitch but still retain the initial tuning by addition of the locking nut at the end of the headstock. The FRX-400 is also equipped with Grover Tuners for reliable intonation, and tuning all night long..
