The Bigsby tremolo gives your guitar the ability to produce a subtle vibrato. It has a smooth spring-loaded action for lowering and slightly raising the pitch of your strings. The Bigsby tremolo is highly controllable and requires little force to operate. It is the perfect unit for musicians who require a subtle vibrato effect on chords or lead lines.
The B11 Aluminium tremolo features the classic Bigsby design to fit on your Telecaster® style guitar. The B16 has the necessary bridge pickup gap to easily fit to your guitar. Bigsby tremolos have been factory fitted to many manufacturers' guitars and can also be retrofitted at a later stage.
Paul Adelburt Bigsby was a skilled formeman during the 1940s in a machine shop. He befriended iconic guitarist Merle Travis with a shared love of Western music. When Merle brought his Gibson L-10 to Paul to fix the vibrato, Paul saw the unit's shortcomings and designed a whole new device.
Over the next few decades, Paul Bigsby began to manufacture his own guitars and pickups, but it was his Bigsby tremolo device that left a true lasting legacy. The design was sold to Gibson and later the Gretsch Guitar Company; the tremolo became an industry standard and still features on guitars to this day.
