The PRS SE A50E Electro Acoustic features a body crafted from figured maple with a solid Sitka spruce top, creating a stunning aesthetic with a warm, deep tone. The maple tonewood provides players with a well-balanced and bright tonality, offering excellent note separation to allow chords to sing. The addition of Sitka spruce infuses the PRS A50E with a broad dynamic range and a strong fundamental tone, perfect for everything from aggressive stunning and flatpicking to fingerpicking. Its Angelus ''Angel'' shape provides players with a comfortable performance and a familiar feel that suits both fingerpicking and plectrum playing styles, while its cutaway offers smooth access to the higher register.
The body is equipped with PRS’ own unique hybrid bracing, equipping a traditional ''X'' bracing at the soundhole and the fan bracing of a classical guitar across the belly. This setup allows the top to vibrate more freely than traditional bracing, delivering an enhanced projection with a rounder tone. Its back bracing has been designed to ''lock down'' the back and side tonewoods, helping the PRS Electro Acoustic to project through its soundhole to create a unique 3-dimensional tonal quality.
The SE Series Electro Acoustic is also fitted with a wide fat mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard, offering an incredibly comfortable playing experience. Using mahogany for the neck provides the overall tone with a stunning harmonic content, producing overtones that stack up nicely to create extra bloom and sonic girth. The addition of an ebony fingerboard enhances the natural characteristics of the mahogany, infusing it with a powerful bass response, rich mids, and a singing high-end.
Equipped with Fishman electronics, the PRSE SE A50E delivers an enhanced projection at large venues and rehearsal spaces, while making time in the studio a lot more streamline. Its undersaddle pickup captures the Angelus’ natural tone and reproduces it for speaker systems and recording software. Its discreet soundhole-mounted tone and volume controls provide quick and easy tone tweaking when needed.
Like many guitars from PRS, the attention to detail featured on the ebony fingerboard is simply eye-catching, featuring a selection of birds which make up PRS’ iconic inlays. The bird inlays include representations of the following species; peregrine falcon (3rd fret), marsh hawk (5th fret), ruby throated hummingbird (7th fret), common tern (9th fret), Coopers hawk (12th fret), kite (15th fret), sparrow (17th fret), storm petrel (19th fret), and a landing hawk (21st fret).
Launched in 1985 by Paul Reed Smith, PRS guitars offer an alternative approach to achieving excellence. Their unique approach to the design and build of their guitars has found them a distinct sound that has become a hallmark for hard rock. The slightly wider necks are ideal for technical guitarists who require space while scaling the fretboard. As well as exceptional tone, PRS’ guitars have become famed for their stunningly intricate finishes. The bird inlays, distinctive colours and signature headstocks have inspired guitarists globally since their first production. The selection of ranges offers something to every style and budget. For guitarists looking for reliable and long lasting tone, PRS is an ideal choice.
