Key Features
Waves GEQ is a high-precision 30-band equalizer with both classic and modern, mono and stereo components. Originally created for live sound, this is equally at home in a studio situation as well. GEQ is powerful proof that all equalizers are not equal.
Product Ref: 38234
Inspired by the renowned DN series 1/3 octave equalizers; Waves GEQ uses traditional proportional Q filters, which narrow the filter width as you increase a band's gain. GEQ utilizes special Flat-Top filters which eliminate the artifacts associated with band interaction, and provide perfect plateau and stair-stepped responses.
Set your band gains one-by-one, or draw your curve using a touchscreen or mouse; the GEQ is both clear and accurately presented. It has both high and low pass filters, a floating parametric EQ bell filter and the holy grail of EQ plugins; a real time visual analyzer which allows you to compare the difference between two sound sources.
"Very impressive. We put it through some paces with program music through a pretty decent PA. It performed well both in subtle adjustments as well as radical dips and boosts with the notch filters. Even swept back and forth with the notch filter fully boosted and cut, and were not able to make it produce even the slightest digital artifacts. The GEQ is totally phase coherent, and it performed exactly like an analog EQ." Hugh Johnson (Vince Gill)
"Now that it's festival season, with all the PAs thrown at you, I keep wondering how I did without GEQ. It?s always on my LR mix, and as the Mesa filters sound so good, it's become my go-to EQ." Jon Lemon (Smashing Pumpkins)
"I used the GEQ analyzer to compare two kick drum mics in the same drum, and also compared a mic'd kick to a sample. Great for that kind of stuff!" Sean 'Sully' Sullivan (Rihanna. Beck)
