Audio Interface Compatible with iOS & OS X Hardware

The Expert Sleepers ES-8 takes audio signals generated by your computer, and converts them into voltage values, which allows interaction with your modular system. It is DC coupled meaning you can pass CVs in both directions between your hardware modular and software CV environments. Featuring USB and ADAT connections, the ES-8 directly connects with your Mac, iOS device, and also mic preamps. Simply plug the ES-8 into a Mac or iOS device with a USB cable to get it working. The ES-8 combines the input and output function of the ES-3 and ES-8, while also providing USB interface functionality, making it a 1-cable plug-and-play interface between your modular and Max/MSP. Conveniently, there is no separation between the audio value and CV output, so it's simple to set up well-calibrated pitches.

Expansion

The ES-8 offers headers for the Expert Sleepers ES-5 expander module, which has further expansion sockets that allow you to connect more Expert Sleepers gate, CV, and MIDI expanders. This enables them to seamlessly integrate with one another. The ES-8 has direct expansion connection for the ES-5, supporting up to 48 gate or trigger outputs.

Illuminated Jack Sockets

As with most Expert Sleepers modules, the ES-8's jacks illuminate to show the voltage found at the jack. This provides you with feedback on the modular-to-computer link up to show you what is happening for each of the inputs and outputs. Essentially, this removes the need for any metering modules, and is helpful when debugging patches. They are super helpful to have, and on the other hand, they are just great to look at.
