The MPC series from Akai changed the face of music from its inception. Its unique sampling capabilities and intuitive drum pads made it one of the most ground-breaking pieces of musical equipment ever made. Now, with the MPC Studio you can experience the fluid playability and classic feel of the MPC pads, right from the comfort of your computer.
At the heart of the MPC Studio is the velocity-sensitive backlit pads which you can use to chop samples, play melodies, trigger chords and program drums. The high-grade design and years of development give the pads a feel that only the MPC has. Backlit with RGB lighting, you can use the different colours to coordinate sound banks or samples to help when recording in performances. Not only is the MPC Studio great for music production it can also be a great tool for live sets, allowing you to trigger sounds and even play full songs using the various banks and powerful effects on offer.
As well as the pads, the MPC Studio features a built-in touch strip controller which can be used to modulate virtual instruments and more. For example, dragging your finger up and down the touch strip whilst assigned to the pitch function within your selected plugin, will allow you to create fluid pitch bends for a more human sound. As well as being great for humanising virtual instruments, you can assign the touch strip to virtually any parameter within a virtual plugin. Use it to control the roll of your hi-hats whilst playing them in or use it to automate the LFO of a bass patch within a synth; the possibilities are endless!
The crisp and vibrant display allows you to focus on your production whilst checking settings at a glance. Using the colour screen you can zoom in on waveforms, browse through your sounds, scroll through virtual instruments, find plugins and more. It minimises the need to jump from the MPC to the computer, allowing you to focus on the music.
