Customise your headphone mix

Complete headphone monitoring. In the studio or on the stage, performers can easily customise their sound. The four output channels allow you to set up four different setting configurations. Each channel has its own controls – including volume, 2-band EQ, and the option to mute the left or right channel.

You can also set the channels to operate in one of two modes: stereo or 2-channel. In stereo mode, all audio signals maintain their stereo image and the balance knob adjusts panning from left to right. In 2-channel mode, all signals are summed to mono – perfect for working with dual-mono audio. The balance control then acts as a mixer between the main and the aux inputs, allowing performers create their own unique mixes.

Power up to 12 headphones

Each channel has three headphone outputs – one on the front panel and two on the rear. These are connected in parallel, offering the same output. Each channel has its volume control, plus a 7-level LED meter displaying the current output level. There's also a clip light, which indicates if the signal exceeds 0dB – so you can ensure you retain the highest audio quality. For even more outputs, you can daisy-chain as many headphone amps as you need. The HPA400 features a 1/4" jack and XLR main output, which provides balanced stereo audio which can be connected to the input of a second amplifier.

Extensive connectivity

Connect high quality balanced audio directly from your audio interface or mixing desk. The main input features a pair of balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS connections. There's also a 1/4" jack 'direct input', which accepts additional unbalanced stereo signals with the same priority as the main input. These signals are fed to all headphone outputs, with their volume level controlled by the control on the front panel. The main channel includes its own 7-level LED meter display, showing the signal level and warning of any clipping.

Each channel also has its own aux input. Connect devices such as MP3 players for a unique mix for each channel. The unbalanced 1/4" jack connection accepts a stereo input, which is perfect when using the channel in stereo mode.

Robust and professional build quality

Built for the rigours of professional use. The headphones amp is constructed within a 19" 1U metal casing. For established setups, it can be easily rackmounted (rack ears are included) and its internal power supply uses a standard IEC connector, for enhanced compatibility.
