DISC Dynacord D12 12'' Passive Loudspeaker Overview

The Dynacord D12 12'' Passive Loudspeaker is a full-range cabinet speaker with 300-watts of continuous output power and a peak of 1200-watt for a powerful performance. The professional D12 is ideal for a multitude of applications in professional, portable and fixed installations. Low-frequency tones are provided by the DL12BFH woofer whilst the ND2 neodymium driver delivers crisp mid-high frequencies. With a constant-directivity horn featuring 80° x 40° angle, the D12 emits wide sound coverage. Voice coil tracking protection ensures that the speaker is protected from thermal overload whilst extremely durable plastic foam and steel grille offer excellent protection from the touring environment. There are 2 x SpeakOn connectors, a pole mount socket and integrated carry handle for simple transport and storage.

Transducer Protection

Featuring a special protection feature, each transducer in the D12 loudspeaker is protected from thermal overload for a safe, reliable performance. The 'Voice Coil Tracking Protection' technology detects the voltages of the transducer and replicates the behavior of the voice coil. Whenever danger of thermal overload is predicted, the power supplied to the speakers is reduced. The intuitive protection technology ensures that operation is quite, so no audible clicks or pops are present when the technology is active. The circuitry then resets once the voice coil temperature is once again safe.

Durable Construction

The D12 loudspeaker ensures that each component is safe thanks to housing constructed of extremely durable acoustic foam and a steel grille. The shape of the D12 lets users employ the speaker for monitoring applications when a low-frequency response is required. A stand-socket allows the speaker to be pole-mounted whilst an integrated carry handle supports easy transport and storage.
