The d:screet 4071 omnidirectional microphone features DPA's legendary LEGACY microphone technology, delivering one of the most transparent, consistent, and robust miniature microphones within the industry. LEGACY microphone technology is highly regarded for its wide dynamic range and ultra-low distortion across a broad range of SPLs. The LEGACY 4071 features a typical dynamic range of 97dB, with a maximum SPL of 144dB, ensuring outstanding performance with the versatility to adapt to a wide range of applications.

Versatile omnidirectional polar pattern

Omnidirectional microphones are often the choice for recording large and spread-out sound sources (such as choirs and orchestras). However, they are perfect for a wide variety of close-miking and vocal applications as well. This is thanks to their ability to accurately capture sound from all directions to produce an incredibly natural and realistic character in comparison to a cardioid microphone. When omnidirectional mics are used close to the desired sound source, they retain a beautifully transparent and balanced response and do not suffer from the proximity effect (increased bass when placed close to a sound source, often associated with cardioid microphones). Whilst they are sensitive in all directions, they are much less prone to wind, pop, and handling noise, providing you with a versatile microphone that can be used effectively in a huge range of applications and indoor/outdoor venues.

High SPL handling capabilities with presence boost

The 4071 utilises a high SPL-handling design, capable of dealing with levels up to a maximum of 144dB before clipping occurs. This makes it ideal for a wide range applications. The 4071 is optimized for spoken word and vocals, and features a 5dB presence boost (around 4 to 6kHz) that combats the dampening of consonants that occurs when a microphone is mounted on an individual's chest. This powerful feature ensures your vocals and speech retain optimum intelligibility and clarity, whilst maintaining an overall natural tonality. The 4071 is perfect for ENG news crews, studio presenters, TV and film production and more. It boasts an incredibly unobtrusive design with intelligent sonic performance, allowing the mic to remain hidden under costumes and clothing or to be mounted out of the way whilst still performing at its best.
