Acoustic Intelligence Resonator

Casio employs a new approach to reproducing the string resonance effect, with the multi-dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source. Incorporating the new string resonance system, the PX 5S is able to reproduce the authentic sound of reverberating strings. The intuitive system distinguishes individual tones while you play. And reproduces the most authentic variations in resonance according to the individual notes you have played. So you can deliver the most unique expressions, with absolute depth and tonal strength.

Tri-Sensor Hammer Action

The Privia’s triple sensor key feature is receptive to subtle movements in your playing style, by which the AiR source can translate into an acoustic sounding response. While the tone enhancing simulators provide incredible features such as hammer response and damper resonance to further the complexity of your sound. All 88 keys incorporate a stereo resonance simulator that realistically reproduces the string sounds of a grand piano. So you can perform with phenomenal dynamic strength and tonal character.

Casio’s Hex Layer System

Hex Layers were originally introduced in the award winning XW-P1 synthesizer. Due to the power of the AiR sound source, PX 5S takes them several steps further. A Hex Layer is a single complex tone that can be made up of six sample layers. These can be stacked (layered), split or velocity switched. Each of those six layers gets its own filter (LP, HP, BP) and filter envelope, its own AMP envelope and pitch envelope (all 7 stage envelopes). You can even have layers that are triggered on key-release. A Hex Layer tone gets its own insert effect but you can choose if a layer uses that insert or the amount that goes to the system effects (chorus, delay, reverb). Best of all, the PX 5S can use two Hex Layer tones simultaneously.
