SRT2 Pickup System

The Yamaha A-Series guitars are fitted with an SRT2 Piezo pickup which is designed to use the individual elements for each of the strings. This helps to produce an ultra-clear and ultra-wide bandwidth signal to deliver an excellent dynamic response. The tonal output of the SRT system possesses exceptional tonal accuracy. Combined with the latest System71 pre-amp, this unification of electronics delivers a beautiful and natural sound when plugged in.

Redesigned Bracing For Ultimate Sound Projection

Through feedback, extensive research, analysis and development, Yamaha has managed to create a new scalloped bracing pattern for the A-Series. The new pattern allows for more volume, more projection, increase in the low and mid-end and a bigger tone. The bracing also allows the resonance of the guitar to sit closer to the middle resulting in greater and more balanced sound pressure whilst allowing for a superb dynamic range.

A.R.E Treated Solid Sitka Spruce Top

A.R.E stands for Acoustic Resonance Enhancement. This patented process gives the solid Sitka Spruce top a gorgeous and highly sought-after appearance and sound of a guitar that has undergone the natural aging process. A.R.E works by crystallizing the cellulose fibres within the wood, which breaks down the hemicellulose and binds the cellulose together. This allows the timber to vibrate and resonate more freely, resulting in the warm tonal response of aged wood.

TUSQ Nut & Saddle

The Yamaha A5 guitars come equipped with a high performance TUSQ nut and saddle. These are two of the most important parts to achieve excellent performance, playability and tone from your acoustic guitar. TUSQ is a synthetic ivory material which is significantly more efficient at transferring vibrations, helping to achieve big open lows and clear bell-like highs. The problem of inconsistent soft or dead spots usually associated with other organic materials with a natural grain is gone. TUSQ nuts and saddles are precision engineered to accurately control specific frequencies that are beneficial to acquiring a rich and crystal clear acoustic guitar tone.

Gotoh Open Gear Tuners

These high quality tuning machines perform perfectly. Not only do they offer a vintage style to the headstock of the Yamaha A5 guitars, they are light weight and use a special self-centering post collar.
