Although the Spirit GT-Pro Deluxe is built for players on a tight budget, the guitar delivers the same high quality standards found in the more expensive Steinbergers. Its compact and comfortable body is crafted from hard maple wood, with a neck though design to improve string resonance and sustain. Its rosewood fingerboard complements the guitar's maple construction, helping to fur up its tone to create sweet highs and thick, firm lows. The trademark ‘’headless’’ design creates a unique look, while also providing a travel-friendly guitar that can be easily placed in overhead luggage compartments.
For a versatile performance the Spirit GT-Pro Deluxe Electric Guitar is equipped with a trio of Steinberger-designed pickups, including two humbuckers and a single coil. Players can easily shape their tone using the volume and tone controls, along with the 5-way pickup selector.
The Steinberger Spirit GT-Pro Deluxe Electric Guitar also features an innovative R-Trem Locking Tremolo with a patented double-ball bridge, which allows players to achieve pitch bending effects with reliable tuning. The double-ball bridge allows for easy tuning during a performance, without the hassle of reaching around the headstock.
Invented by Ned Steinberger in 1979 , the headless guitar has become a unique instrument, steering away from conventional guitar design. Steinberger wanted to redesign the iconic guitar, and deliver a balanced instrument in both tone and and stability. Eliminating the classic headstock design not only reduces the scale length and appearance, but makes tuning easier during a gig.
