Vintage-inspired and over two and a half years in the making. The PRS John Mayer Silver Sky, Horizon brings together Mayer and Smith's favourite elements from '63/'64 vintage guitars, providing you with a classic tone and performance. However, that doesn't stop it from being a PRS guitar through and through.
The attention to detail on the Mayer Silver Sky is what makes it special, from its vintage-inspired body and electronics, to its iconic reversed PRS headstock and bird inlays. You can deliver a range of musical tones reminiscent of the 60s, but still perform with the comfort of a modern-day guitar.
Even if you're not a huge fan of John Mayer, you can still appreciate the PRS Silver Sky's striking performance and level of detail. Even its Horizon finish adds to the elegance that the Silver Sky projects from its very core.

The PRS John Mayer Silver Sky is built with a lightweight alder body, delivering the classic full-bodied tone many musicians favour. Its strong, clear sound lends itself to a variety of musical styles, offering a beautifully beefy midrange, excellent lows, and a sizzling high end with a decent sustain.
Whilst set-in and through-body necks have become regarded as the premium choice, bolted necks offer their own resonant properties. The bolted style has a cutting frequency split that can be heard on hundreds of classic rock 'n' roll albums.
The maple neck has a bright, instant response that adds clarity to your strings. The neck has four high quality bolts and an individual back plate for reinforced strength, making it easily reliable to take on the road. The bolted neck has all the sound of the 60s with modern day reliability.
The PRS designed non-locking tremolo bridge can be used to add vibrato and other pitch adjustment effects via the included nickel tremolo arm. With a string through construction and a spring-loaded action, the tremolo bridge offers unique accents perfect for lead guitarists. The addition of locking tuners also provides improved tuning stability.
Mayer's Signature PRS is designed to capture the essence of vintage instruments from '63 and '64. Its set of custom made 635JM single-coil pickups are built to recreate those iconic tones of blues and early rock.
All three pickups provide you with a beautifully round and full sound, with a musical high-end that's not too sharp or predominant. Its 5-way switching gives you access to five distinct tone, letting you find the perfect sound for any situation.
Although the Silver Sky is based off guitars from the 60s, it still comes equipped with what makes PRS guitars so recognisable today. Its headstock is predominantly PRS, with the trademark design being inverted to accommodate Mayer's playing style. It also helps keep a consistent string length, improving tuning stability.
The attention to detail is also featured on the rosewood fingerboard. You get PRS’ iconic inlays, which are made up of a selection of bird silhouettes. These include a peregrine falcon (3rd fret), marsh hawk (5th fret), ruby throated hummingbird (7th fret), common tern (9th fret), Coopers hawk (12th fret), kite (15th fret), sparrow (17th fret), storm petrel (19th fret), and a landing hawk (21st fret).

Launched in 1985 by Paul Reed Smith, PRS guitars offer an alternative approach to achieving excellence. Their unique approach to the design and build of their guitars has found them a distinct sound that has become a hallmark for hard rock. The slightly wider necks are ideal for technical guitarists who require space while scaling the fingerboard.
As well as exceptional tone, PRS’ guitars have become famed for their stunningly intricate finishes. The bird inlays, distinctive colours and signature headstocks have inspired guitarists globally since their first production. The selection of ranges offers something to every style and budget. For guitarists looking for reliable and long lasting tone, PRS is an ideal choice.
