Like others in the ES Series, this 2018 ES-330 model is constructed with a 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body, delivering a bright, tight and precise tone with a balanced low and crisp response. A pair of traditional ''F'' sound holes are also included, and not only offer a classic appearance, but deliver resonance and acoustic projection.
The 2018 Gibson ES-330 features a C shaped neck profile, which allows for fluid hand flexibility across the whole fingerboard, while its rolled neck binding is rounded off, offering a comfortable fit to the contours of the player's hand. Coupled with a rosewood fingerboard, players can achieve a warm tone with a natural feel.
The Gibson ES-330 features an authentic bone nut, which offers an enhanced tone and sustain over traditional plastic and tusq nuts as it improves the vibration transfer between the string and tuning machines without dampening the tone.
For that classic Gibson tone, the ES-330 hollowbody guitar is equipped with two MHS P-90 pickups. These are located in the neck and bridge position and are hand-wired with ceramic capacitors for hum-cancelling capabilities. Players can achieve a powerful growl and sparkle, with an excellent mid-range. Achieving the perfect tone is easy, with individual control options for volume and tone, and a toggle switch for pickup selection.
This vintage-inspired guitar also features a thinline Trapeze tailpiece which is constructed from two pieces. One part attaches to the base of the guitar, while the other part is just below the bridge. This tailpiece suspends the strings away from the guitar's body and applies the right amount of tension for a resonant sound, and optimum string vibration.
