The American Original Series, is the latest from Fender. Unlike previous series of guitar and basses that focus on specific years, the American Original lineup focuses on decades, providing the modern player with a full host of vintage-inspired designs from yesteryear. Each instrument features a modern fingerboard radius, along with original Fender style and tone.
With an iconic Precision bass body, players can benefit from the two asymmetrical cutaways, which not only provide a pleasing aesthetic appeal, but promote the access to the upper fingerboard. Furthermore, its body is slim, sleek, and contoured to ensure long practice sessions and live performances are as comfortable as possible. The American Original P-Bass also features a lacquer finish which not only enables the wood breathe naturally, but will age in a distinctively appealing manner.
The Fender American Original '50s P Bass is equipped with a split-coil, Pure Vintage ’58 P Bass pickup. Just like the original P-bass from the 1950's, this pickup replicates the warmth and clarity, with superb accuracy. Designed as period-correct as possible, this pickup is constructed with enamel coated coil wire, as well as cloth-covered output wires, fibre bobbins and alnico 5 magnets. Will all these traditional components, modern players can once again achieve those iconic tones we all know and love.
Debuted in late 1951, the Precision Bass guitar was not only Fender's first bass guitar, it was the world's first bass guitar and a new kind of instrument. The Precision Bass (Often shortened to P-Bass), has spent well over half a century at the very heart of music of all kinds everywhere, with its two-horned solid body and fretted neck, the Precision Bass profoundly revolutionised music. Reigning ever since as a must-have instrument, this elegantly simple and enormously powerful instrument is the worldwide standard for bass tonality, performance, reliability and overall excellent.
