Also featuring high output active EMG 81 and 85 humbucking pickups the Dean Custom 450FM delivers a sharp attack and a beefy rhythm tones when in the 81 bridge position and a warm and dynamic tonality when in the 85 neck position. Constructed from close aperture coils and featuring ceramic (81) and alnico V (85) magnets the 81 and 85 humbucking pickups provide advanced detail and a truly meaty tone. EMG pickups are favoured by many professional musicians due to their unbeatable tone, active circuitry, high output and low noise.
Mahogany & Flamed Maple Top
The dense and heavy nature of Mahogany body gives the Dean Custom 450FM impressive sustain and resonance. Delivering a warm and overall balanced tone the Mahogany body ensures there is a good depth to the tone with plenty of grind and bite. Finished with a stunning flamed Maple top, not only does the Custom 450FM sound great, but is sure to stand out on any stage.
String-Thru Body
By incorporating a string-thru body construction the Custom 450FM provides improved tonality and sustain by transferring vibrations and resonance from the string to the body as it goes over the Tune-O-Matic bridge and passes through the body.
Smooth Access Neck Heel
With most set neck guitars you will often find that the connection heel between the neck and body is rather bulky and can cause access problems to the high frets. However, the Dean Custom 450FM features a unique smooth heel construction which is sculpted to the shape of the palm to allow smooth and quick access to the higher register.
