Lightweight Agathis Body

The Squier Precision Bass PJ features a comfortable agathis body, delivering a stunning performance with striking tonal qualities. The agathis tonewood delivers a powerful midrange and excellent dynamics, letting you create fat, well balanced tones with plenty of power and definition. The light weight of the agathis also means you can play all night long without shoulder strain. The addition of a vintage-style bridge with single-groove saddles enhance the natural resonance of the strings, delivering a stunning sustain and stability.

Smooth Playing Maple Neck & Ebonol Fingerboard

Coupled with the Vintage Modified Squier’s comfortable agathis body is a smooth maple neck, enhancing this bass’ natural brightness while tightening up its tone to deliver plenty of cut. An ebonol fingerboard is also added, offering extra punch and low-end growl for a truly stunning tonality. The combination between the maple and ebonol delivers a beautifully sparkling high-end, with a thick, creamy low-end and snappy midrange attack. The neck also features Fender’s classic ''C'' shaped profile, providing the fretting hand with excellent comfort across the entire fingerboard.

Fretless Design

The fretless design provides the Squier Precision Bbass with a unique tone that fretted versions can’t achieve, since the string vibrations interact directly with the fingerboard wood. By removing the frets, players can achieve excellent precision, produce a naturally smooth slide, and create double-bass style vibrato and microtonal intonations. The Fretless bass is widely used in Jazz and funk since it offers a similar feel and sound as an acoustic double bass, but can work well in a wide variety of musical styles.

Single Fender Split-Coil Pickup

The Vintage Modified Fretless P-Bass is equipped with a single Fender-designed split-coil pickup in the middle position, offering classic punchy tone with excellent depth. Unlike standard single-coils, the split-coil design help eliminate any unwanted noise for a truly clean sound. Volume and tone controls provide players excellent tone shaping capabilities, letting you dial in the perfect sound for any stage.
