85/15 pickups. A true testament to PRS innovation. These bass and treble pickups harness the power of ground-breaking '80s humbuckers, offering a dynamic, versatile sound that encompasses sparkling clarity and extended lows and highs. Originally released in 1985, they combine the qualities of a single coil pickup with the noise-cancelling benefits of a humbucker. So, you can project a sound that is purely you, no hum, whilst still experiencing the gloriousness of a single coil. Or if full single-coil is more your style, the pickups are coil-splitable via the push/pull tone control. They may be inspired by the '80s, but 85/15s meet every demand of the modern player.
Mahogany, maple, and rosewood - it's a classic combination that PRS have relied on for years to deliver sublime sound and a comfortable playing experience. Sturdy mahogany back and sides can handle any aggressive performance or excessive practise whilst allowing you the space you need to reach those higher frets with ease and strum with full ferocity. A maple top then provides even more robustness and durability. It will also ensure that even when you're playing crazily complex chords, each note will ring out with delicious definition. Teamed with the tonal warmth of mahogany flowing beneath, you'll have a sound that is resonant, balanced, and wonderfully articulate.
The beauty of maple extends all the way up the neck. Showcasing a Pattern Thin carve, the neck will sit comfortably in your hand, as if it were always supposed to be there. Complementing it is a radiant rosewood fretboard. A popular choice for this part of the guitar, rosewood offers a bright tone that is evened out with wondrous resonance. But more importantly, it is fantastically smooth, lending itself to intricate fretting techniques. Slide, pitch bend, and practice swift chord changes without any impedance. Its soft finish is perfect for speedy and effortless playing.
Equipped with a PRS tremolo bridge, the CE24 gives you the chance to experiment with dive-bombs, vibrato, and other techniques, making your performance more enchanting than ever. Captivate your audience with your wild playing and then return to solid ground afterwards as your strings go back to being firmly in tune. Prepare for unforgettable gigs and thrilling play experiences.
