Mesa Boogie’s PowerHouse series of bass cabinets provide players with unsurpassed levels of musical versatility, featuring innovative design features for a truly premium performance. This cabinet is built with aviation style bracing, which has been borrowed from the aircraft industry, reducing the overall weight of the cab while increasing rigidity. This is achieved by implementing dado-joined reinforcements and sculpting the bracing from an extremely sturdy skeleton, resulting in an improvement in the cabinet’s structural integrity. The PowerHouse Cabinet also features Mesa Boogie’s innovative tri-port design, offering a front-facing multi-vented porting system which uses individually tuned triangular ports to enhance the entire bass spectrum.
One of the unique features of the PowerHouse range of bass cabinets is its proprietary rear panel interface. Dubbed as the player control network, this interface features a variety of gig friendly controls to ensure you deliver the perfect performance in any location. A large premium L-Pad attenuator provides control over the cabinet’s horn, letting players dial in the perfect amount of high-frequency drive or completely remove the horn’s tone. To ensure your speaker survives the hardships of touring, Mesa Boogie have added a convenient switch to protect your horn, removing the need for fuses, tools, or rummaging inside the cabinet if your tweeter gets spiked.
A 3-position switch offers different crossover frequencies, delivering 3 distinct tonal variations to suit a variety of tastes. Selecting the 5K (normal) setting will provide your tone with a detail-enhancing sweetness, while the harmonic-friendly 4K (sheen) expands your accents. The bright 3K mode is perfect for players wanting a modern, articulate cut. The back panel is then finished off with 1/4'’ and Speakon combination connectors, offering a paralleled output and 4 ohm input for a truly versatile performance.
The PowerHouse Bass Cab is fitted with eight powerful 10'' speakers from Eminence’s custom range, specifically toned for Mesa Boogie’s standard PowerHouse Cabinets. Each speaker features Eminence’s extensive knowledge in loudspeaker design and over 50 years of experience, coupled with Mesa’s desire to deliver the ultimate sound, resulting in an incredible sounding speaker. Delivering 1200 watts of pure destruction, the 8x10 PowerHouse is the ideal tour cab for leaving sonic devastation wherever you go.
With its large size, the PowerHouse 8x10 would normally be a hassle to transport from gig to gig. Luckily, Mesa Boogie have equipped this cabinet with a tilt and roll transport system, with its rollerblade style wheels, rear glide rails, and heavy duty metal kickplate providing a smooth and easy transportation.
