Solid Cedar & Solid Koa Construction

The Luna Art Craftsman features a solid cedar top which delivers a rich, smooth, and warm tonal character. Its solid cedar top is highly responsive to light playing and fingerpicking techniques, as well as responding with volume to a player's softer attack. The Art Craftsman's warm-sounding solid top is coupled with solid koa back and sides, producing a bright attack that will warm up, sweeten up, and open up the more this stunning solid wood guitar is played. Both tonewoods not only offer their own unique tone to the overall sound, but provide a very eye-catching appearance.

Mahogany Neck & Ebony Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the Art Craftsman's neck produces plenty of resonance as well as providing a stable, and durable playing experience. Mahogany is commonly used to craft guitar necks, as the wood responds greatly many different styles of play and will accommodate numerous techniques with ease. Its neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard which provides a bright attack, great sustain, and excellent durability. Ebony's attack is crisp and bright, with a strong fundamental tone. The fingerboard is decorated with mother of pearl inlays that were inspired by the Art and Crafts movement of 1860.

Grand Auditorium Body

The Luna Art Craftsman features a grand auditorium body shape, offering a well-balanced sound as well as a versatile play. The proportions of the grand auditorium fall between a dreadnought and concert size and has been designed to take a little of both guitar's characters and blend those into one incredibly versatile shape. The Art Craftsman can handle both fingerpicking styles as well as medium-strength strumming patterns with impeccable balance across the tonal spectrum. It produces clear, well-defined notes that are suited to a range of genres and playing styles. The grand auditorium also provides a comfortable playing experience and is ideal for those who struggle with the size of a dreadnought.

Equipped With Fishman Isys+ Preamp

The Art Craftsman comes equipped with a Fishman Isys+ preamp, which provides amplified acoustic sound for live and rehearsal environments. Simply plug-in to an amp or P.A system and listen to your acoustic's natural tonal character come alive through this sophisticated and compact system. The preamp features rotary controls for bass, treble, and volume, as well as a phase button, and the added convenience of a built-in tuner.

Luna History

Yvonne Villiers is an accomplished stained-glass artist who envisioned Luna guitars. Her inspiration for a line of guitars designed to maximise playing comfort came from her mother, Hilda Villiers, a bassist for over 40 years. Whilst watching her mum on stage, Yvonne couldn't help but notice the massive struggle her mum had whilst playing. With her mum being petite and using such a heavy instrument, she used to complain of how hard it was to be a woman and try to play these big bass guitars.

Yvonne then questioned if there were others like her mum that struggled with the same problems and pains. She came up with the idea of a woman specific guitar, uniquely tailored to fit their bodies, their hands, and their musical styles. Yvonne moved on to created Luna guitars, a line of guitars made for female musicians of all ages and crafted with luminous visual beauty to engage women's minds and spirits along with their talent.

Yvonne already had brilliant artistic skills and use of colour, she then applied the same techniques as she did with her award winning stained glass work to her new line of guitars. She is known for using rich colours that shimmer and shine with every movement providing an eye-catching design along with the great musical tones Luna guitars deliver. Yvonne's design expertise has led so many men to respond to Luna's well-crafted, spirit-engaging instruments that the company now creates guitars for both female and male musicians of all ages.
