Joe Satriani is one of the most influential rock guitarists in recent times and helped pioneer the instrumental rock guitar movement, inspiring a generation of players. He has collaborated with Ibanez for decades and this acoustic guitar is designed to bring his steel-strung sounds to the stage. He wanted to be able transition easily between the electric and acoustic guitar, so this signature model has many features which allow him to do so, while providing a strong tone and lovely aesthetic. The JSA20 includes the innovative Fishman Aura Preamp with access to the Aura Guitar Imaging Library, letting you generate the sound of 100s of different acoustic guitars.

Solid Tonewoods & Construction for Balanced Tones

The JSA20 features a solid engelmann spruce top which gives a bright tone overall and responds very well to player input. The pau ferro back, sides and neck are added for warmth, projection and overall stability. The fingerboard on the JSA20 is ebony which provides powerful resonance and dark overtones. The body is constructed with X bracing, assisting with sustain and responsiveness.

This shape features a sleek and curvaceous body that is ideal for both fingerpicking players and those who prefer to play with heavier strumming. The JSA20 features a deep single cutaway to provide easier high-fret access while the neck is a slim design and made to feel comfortable for electric guitarists looking to transition to an acoustic instrument.

The guitar body and neck are both abalone-bound giving a thoroughly classy appearance, while the vintage burst finish in high gloss really brings out the beauty of the wood underneath. The Grover machine heads and Ibanez Advantage Bridge Pins ensure stable tuning and quicker string changes.

Fishman Aura Imaging Technology

The JSA20 features a Fishman Acoustic Matrix pickup which creates the crisp and direct sound of an under-saddle pickup. This pickup is matched to a Fishman Auro Pro Onboard Preamp which gives you access to Fishmans' Aura Imaging Technology, letting you download the sound of 100s of different guitars to upload to the 4 on-board image spaces slots. The preamp lets you switch between these 4 presets instantly for radically different sounds, and you can blend the image with the natural sound of the under-saddle pickup.

The JSA20 has a Joe Satriani guitar model pre-set in the Aura Pro, so you'll have instant access to the most direct signature guitar sound available. The preamp also features a handy built-in tuner along with a 3-band EQ and anti-feedback control.
