The Fender Custom Shop has reached new heights of craftsmanship with its acclaimed Time Machine series, artfully crafting meticulous replicas using the same techniques and tooling used to create the originals all those years ago.

For 2015, the Custom Shop proudly introduced an expanded selection of premium ''relic'' finishes that have been designed to replicate the worn-in vibe of a genuine vintage instrument. The Relic finish delivers an authentic worn-in wear of a guitar that has experienced many years of regular use. Each one is specially devised to capture the authenticity of original-era Fender, with unparalleled breathability and resonance.

The Custom Shop 1960 Journeyman Relic Jazz Bass is equipped with Custom Shop '60s single-coil jazz bass pickups that are designed to produce era-specific authenticity, as well as chrome covers and special period-correct, dual ''stacked'' concentric control knobs (volume and tone for each pickup). Other premium features include a four-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, an authentic reproduction 4-saddle bridge with ''F'' logo chrome cover, and American Vintage tuners. This 1960 Journeyman Relic transports you to the debut year of the Jazz Bass, and the two-piece Alder body comes complete with an Aged Olympic White finish and nitrocellulose lacquer, helping to impart the appearance of years of aging and light use without heavy wear and tear. Also included is a brown textured vinyl hardshell case with gold interior.
