In the neck position, an EMG 85. Loaded with alnico 5 magnets, this pickup packs an additional punch of power within your lead tones. It’s versatile, and offers exceptional tone in any genre from blues to metal. The bridge position hosts an EMG 81 pickup; one that excels in delivering those blistering, high-end melodies with plenty of sustain. Both pickups are active. Which means that every note you play will cut through the mix with fierce character, and offer crisp articulation throughout. As if the 450FM wasn’t versatile enough, it includes a bunch of electronic controls to let you find the exact tone you desire. Tone and volume pots let you sculpt your sound the way you want, by controlling the level of gain and high-end frequencies. Topped off with a 3-way selector for alternating between the EMGs, the Dean 450FM was born to produce gigantic sound in any musical style.
