It's ultra-sensitive and makes you want to pull rather than beat the sound out. The sharp 45 degree edge cut to the far outside of the shell increases sensitivity around the drumhead perimeter for exceptional sizzle and a lightning-quick response. The 14in x 5.5in size further enhances the lower dynamic range by fully engaging the snare wires at all volume levels, even when using brushes.

The cylinder-drive strainer and butt-end adjuster uses a self-lubricating bearing to ensure smooth operation. The adjustment dial employs "micro-lock" technology, providing precise control.

All Black Panther Snare Drums feature stainless steel snare wires for a crisp lively action.

The unique shape of the Mapex Sonic Saver reduces wear and tear to sticks, makes the drum easier to tune, enhances the sound of rimshots, and wont choke the shell's vibration. All resulting in much greater resonance.
