Arched Mahogany Body

The dense and heavy nature of Mahogany body gives the Dean Custom 550F impressive sustain and resonance. Delivering a warm and overall balanced tone the Mahogany body ensures there is a good depth to the tone with plenty of grind and bite. Additionally the 550F also features an arched top to provide a comfortable and sleek playability.

Active EMG Pickups

Also featuring high output active EMG 81 and 85 humbucking pickups the Dean Custom 550F delivers a sharp attack and a beefy rhythm tones when in the 81 bridge position and a warm and dynamic tonality when in the 85 neck position. Constructed from close aperture coils and featuring ceramic (81) and alnico V (85) magnets the 81 and 85 humbucking pickups provide advanced detail and a truly meaty tone. EMG pickups are favoured by many professional musicians due to their unbeatable tone, active circuitry, high output and low noise.

Floyd Rose Locking Tremolo

For many years Floyd Rose has been the leading manufacturer and designer of floating, locking tremolos. With a design that has stood strong for over 30 years the Floyd Rose locking tremolo allows you to adjust the string tension and pitch with the removable whammy bar to create unique sounds such as dive bombs. Unlike non-locking tremolo's the Floyd Rose bridge can make huge changes in pitch but still retain the initial tuning by the addition of a locking nut at the end of the headstock.

Smooth Access Neck Heel

Featuring a neck thru construction the Dean Custom 550F incorporates a unique smooth heel construction which is sculpted to the shape of the palm to allow smooth and quick access to the higher register.
